TRADITIONAL BASKETMAKING - A JOURNEY INTO THE PAST
(all levels - beginners to professionals)
Workshop in traditional basketmaking with Vincent Mac Cearán, guided archaeological and nature walks and plenty of time to relax.
Day 1: Welcome at meeting point in Galway (16.00), boat trip to Inishmore, transfer to B+B, dinner
Day 2-6: Workshop with Vincent (4 hrs/day, morning or evening). Cliffwalk with Elizabeth Zollinger, archaeological walk with Maureen O'Flaherty.
Day 7: Boat back to Galway, bus to B+B, dinner and "Session" in one of Galway’s famous old Pubs.
My neighbour, Vincent Mac Cearán is one of the very few traditional basketmakers in Ireland. He concentrates on baskets from the Island, the way they were made and used for centuries. He also has a diploma in training and education. He is a patient and fabulous teacher and also a man full of fun.
Cost: approx. Euro 760.- (from/to Galway)

Included: 6 nights in centre or in luxurious selfcatering house nearby (standard, sharing) with spectacular sea view, (eating out can be organized), first dinner, last night B+B in Galway, all transfer, transports, Workshops and guided walks according to programme.
