7 Nights B&B (6 on Inis Mór and 1 in Galway).

Kilmurvey House: lovely comfortable, small*** Guesthouse in an old Mansion, with friendly hostess and wonderful breakfast, near clean and safe beach and famous Dun Aonghasa.

B+B Galway: The last night we stay in a quiet and comfortable B+B, near the sea and about in der Nähe vom Meer 15 min. walking distance from City Centre. With the great bus service to the Airport Dublin (3 hrs. Every ½ hr. people can also reach early flights. And Galway is a charming little town.

COST

CHF 1490.-

The price will be adjusted  if the exchange rate changes. With less than 14 participants a surcharge has to be applied as the joint costs for this programme are very high.

SUPPLEMENTS

For 6 nights single room (Inis Mór): CHF 240.-/ last night in Galway: CHF 40.- (not so many singles available, book early).

Additional nights on Inis Mór, in Galway and Dublin can be booked from CHF 60.-/Euro 35.-/night (double B+B).

CANCELLATION

Up to 60 days before departure: 10% of the total price
59-31 days before departure: 40% of the total price
30-1 days before departure: 70% of the total price
On the day of departure or no show up: 90% of the total price
We strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance.

Single people: I always have 60 – 80% single people in my programmes, so you won’t be lost if you travel on your own.

Day 1:

Welcome at meeting point in Galway about 16.15, bus and boat to Inis Mór (2 hrs), transfer to B+B, dinner.

Day 2 :

Information about the programme, the Island and the history of the Celts, walk along the High Cliffs to Bungabhla, west end, (walking time 2 hrs), evening: free time.

Day 3:

Morning: lecture by Elizabeth: Celtic Calendar and fiest days, lecture by Dara Ó Maoildhia: The Celtic Church in Ireland: peak and downfall and about his book: “The Globalisation of God” afternoon: from the seal sanctuary to the holy places of St. Asurnai and St.Cieran and to Kilronan (shopping etc.), walking time: 1 hr, evening: free time.

Day 4:

Walk with Dara: holy well (Mother Earth and old rituals), ancient wedge tomb, (burial rituals, death and “Otherworld”), visit to the magnificent blow hole “Monster’s Lair” (2- 3 hrs walk), evening: free time.

Day 5:

Morning: free time, afternoon: lecture with the storyteller Niall de Búrca:: “Gods, heroes and mortals – an introduction to Celtic myths”, dinner in Elizabeth’s house, evening: Session by the fireside: old stories with Niall and music and Gaelic songs with young singers and musicians from the Island

Day 6:

“The old monastic site of Saint Enda”, (the idea of the early Celtic church) visit the smallest church of Ireland and walk along the magnificent cliffs to the Black Fort ( 2-3 hrs walk), back to Kilronan: time for shopping, “Man of Aran” film etc., evening: vegetarian buffet in Joel’s, music session in local Pub.

Day 7:

9.00 Boat to Connemara, walk the ancient pilgrimage way to Mam Éan: “St.Patrick’s Bed and Holy Well” (2hrs walk), back to Galway, transfer to B+B, dinner and “music session” in one of Galway’s famous Pubs.
